When I was a kid, I used to LOVE strawberry milk. Anyone else? I always think about it and my other childhood favorites as back to school season is upon us.
Thinking about it now, I kind of cringe – tons of sugar, artificial color and flavor, and who knows what else. But then I thought – why not create a healthy homemade strawberry milk version of our old classic favorite, but using real strawberries?
This recipe is unique in that it’s made with homemade cashew milk; I’d never made homemade cashew milk before this and it was surprisingly easy! Just soak the cashews overnight, drain/rinse, and then blend with water. Done! That was easy. That said, the recipe will work with the store bought milk (organic whole milk, almond milk, coconut milk, etc.) of your choice, too, if you prefer.
Once the cashew milk is made, you simply add strawberries and a little pure maple syrup and blend again to make this drink extra delicious. The result is a creamy, slightly sweet, and satisfying treat that packs a solid nutritional punch, too.
I created this recipe as part of my sponsored ambassadorship with California Strawberries, so click here to head on over to their Heart of Farmers blog for the full recipe. You’ll also be able to enter their #ThinkStrawberries Back to School contest for the chance to win a $200 Target gift card. That gift card would certainly not be hard to spend.
Happy snacking!
Have you ever made homemade cashew milk before? How about homemade strawberry milk?
