Late last week, I got a fun delivery: a package from Celestial Seasonings showcasing their brand new look!
Don’t worry – their teas are as awesome as always and the recipes have not changed at all – just the outer packages! Here is a preview of the new Celestial Seasonings packaging that you’ll start to see appearing in stores (and in Celestial’s online store) in the coming weeks. Nice, huh? They are going for a more modern, simple look while still incorporating their original designs. I love them!
I was especially happy to see that the Sleepytime Bear is still in action. He’s our fave. 
In fact, you’ll recall I had the pleasure of meeting the bear himself last year out in Boulder on a trip to Celestial Seasonings headquarters. It was a big moment for me. 
One thing I learned on that trip last year that I thought was really cool is that they commission artists to come up with the designs on their boxes. (And are still doing so even with the new look!) Here is the original Sleepytime painting, on display at their headquarters. So cozy!
Also: did you know Celestial Seasonings has over 100 varieties of tea?! Crazy, I know. Once the cooler weather sets in, I’ll probably make it my mission to try all of them. As for now – I’m enjoying some of their teas iced! I just brew a cup and then pour it over ice in a glass. I really like their lemon teas, herbal teas, green teas, and the dirty chai tea (with milk) iced. Yum!
Anyway – back to the new boxes! Another thing that has not changed: Celestial Seasonings uses natural fiber, chlorine-free tea bags that are biodegradable and compostable, and their unique pillow-style tea bag doesn’t need a string, tag, staple or individual wrapper, which helps save 3.5 million pounds of waste from entering landfills every year. Their tea boxes are also still 100% recycled paperboard, including 35% post-consumer waste, and can be recycled again when empty.
In addition to a new logo and look, the new boxes make it easier to find the name of the tea (big and bold on the bottom left) and the tea type (in the little tab on the top right – aka herbal, green, black, etc.). They also feature a short and sweet flavor description under the tea name.
I also love that they share brewing tips and fun facts inside the box lids.
Zara, however, was most impressed by the box that the teas came in. " class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> She is obsessed with boxes – anyone else’s cats do this? For your viewing pleasure, here is my masterpiece entitled “A Cat and Her Box.” After spazzing out in it for awhile, she promptly fell asleep on the job.
