Morning!

What were you for Halloween? Matt and I decided to go scary this year. Image may be NSFW.

We had fun passing out candy to cute kids before heading out to a house party for some adult fun. Good times!

Saturday was super low key – Matt and I spent most of the day getting things done at home. Late morning, I headed out for a solo run (Matt had a bad cold he was getting over so he wasn’t into it). As you guys know, I pretty much exclusively run with other people because I find it way more fun, but I actually had a great run. It was so pretty out with all the changing leaves and I enjoyed the time to zone out a little bit. It was cold and gray and almost no one else was out – felt like I had the world to myself. On the fitness front on Sunday morning, Matt and I had a fun adventure planned – a tennis lesson!

The folks at MyTennisLessons.com, a tennis lessons booking website that allows students to find local tennis instructors online, reached out to me a couple months ago offering a complementary lesson in exchange for a blog review. As you guys know, I love tennis – I played a lot when I was younger and was on our high school team – and Matt has just started to get into it recently. I figured a joint lesson would be a fun way for me to brush up on skills and for Matt to learn some of the technical basics!

My Tennis Lessons is nationwide, so check them out if you are interested! I really liked the site – very user friendly. It was easy to browse instructors (you can see reviews, which is always helpful, and their rates per hour vary are clearly labeled), set up the lesson through the website, and then they email you confirmations and reminders which is nice, too. Thank you to them for this cool opportunity to test out their service!

Matt and I had a lesson from local DC/NoVA area instructor Gregg M., who we both really liked. We started with basics – working on form for forehand, backhand, volley, and serve – and then had some time to practice with drills, too.

If you’re in the area and looking for tennis lessons, I highly recommend Gregg! He teaches all ages and all levels. Thanks for the great lesson, Gregg!

The rest of Sunday was spent defrosting (it was SO cold out) and doing some recipe development. (Recipe coming Friday!)

To end this random post, Stitch Fix! Have you guys signed up yet? (Here’s my full Stitch Fix review of it if you have no idea what I’m talking about, but I feel like everyone uses it already by now.) I’ve had some requests to do a Stitch Fix (<– affiliate link) post just for fun sharing what I get/keep from boxes, so here you go! I got a box on Friday – happy day!

First up – the Ivan Embellished Collar Striped Knit Top. This was $48, and I absolutely loved it. I actually wore it right away the day I got the box. Definite keep!

I also received the Kristine Woven Tassel Satchel, which was $68. This was cute, but not $68 cute, and I don’t need any new purses. Send back!

My stylist sent two cute work-appropriate items this time: the Yalena Sleeveless Criss Cross Neckline Mod Dress ($78) and the Benson 3/4 Ruched Sleeve Blazer ($78). Loved both of these and they fit well/were really comfy. Versatile, too. Keep!

And finally, I got the Emilia Plaid Print Pencil Skirt ($64). I really liked this until I put it on – it bunched awkwardly up top, hit me right at the knees (not flattering), and felt like cheap fabric, too. Send back! Bummer because I loved the pattern.

If you do Stitch Fix and don’t love your boxes, the key is to leave super detailed feedback for your stylist about what you didn’t like. I feel like my stylist usually nails it nowadays. Image may be NSFW.

And now, time to stop talking about clothes and get back to work. Have a happy first Monday of November, my friends! I’ll be back soon with a fun new recipe.
