Hello from the dreary south!
It sounds like most of you have snow right now; we just have cloudy skies and lots of rain here in North Carolina. It’s actually made for a very nice, cozy weekend so far. Besides venturing out on Friday night for sushi and twice to go to the gym, Matt and I have pretty much just been rocking out at home in pajamas and working our way through the TV show “Breaking Bad" on Netflix. Awesome.
All the homemade soup I made this week came in handy for lunches!
I had some of the leftover Chunky Turkey and Vegetable Soup:
Which tastes way better than it looks in that photo, I promise.
And Matt had some of the leftover Homemade Minestrone Soup:
Plus salads on the side for both topped with tomato, green pepper, and olives.
Delish! We also used these fun water glasses that my brother got us for Christmas. They are handmade in Italy!
The tops are uneven – so cool looking.
Last night we decided to make homemade pizza!
I love homemade pizza – so fun to create the perfect pie. Plus you can add lots of veggies! We bought a whole wheat crust at the store and topped it with sauce, cheese, sweet peppers, mushrooms, fresh basil, and pepperoni.
I must say, it was a pretty awesome combination. We also added some cracked pepper and Italian herbs on there as well!
Then we popped it in the oven (right on the rack, per the instructions)…
And a mere 15-ish minutes later, we had restaurant-quality pizza, ready to go. We made sure the crust got nice and crispy. 
Mmm…
The below photo is entitled “Why we need a pizza slicer.” Apparently delicious crust = very hard to cut with a normal knife. (Definitely putting a slicer on our wedding registry, along with one of those huge pizza spatula type things… whatever they are called.)
Yum.
I’m off to get in a workout before meeting up with my friend Hilary for lunch. I need to get some school work done at some point, too, alas.
