Hi friends! For those of you in the US, I hope you’re gearing up for a fun 4th of July! We booked kayaks again to watch the downtown DC fireworks from the water (like last year!) and are pumped. If you’re looking for something to make, my No Bake Blueberry Custard Pie (<– click for recipe) would be a fun and seasonally appropriate treat, or check out this post I wrote on a previous 4th: Healthy 4th of July BBQ Recipes. The patriotic strawberries are my favorite. :)

On the running front, I had a great run on Tuesday morning with my friend Sokphal!

Sokphal and I have a standing Tuesday morning run date, and since I was doing all.the.races lately I’ve been feeling pretty sluggish come Tuesday mornings. This week I actually felt more energetic for a change, which was nice! :)

We both forgot our watches and it was kind of nice to go rogue without any idea of pace or distance. I think we covered about 5 miles?

Love running along the Georgetown waterfront. So pretty!

We swung by the monuments for a quick hello. (Tip: if you are visiting DC and want the monuments to yourself, go in the early morning! This photo was taken around 7:30 a.m. – a few hours later and this area would be a total mob scene with summer tourists.)

We ended our loop on the Mt. Vernon Trail.

I dropped Sokphal off at her place and then walked back up the big hill to my place. It was HOT out – special thanks to Starbucks for saving me from dying of thirst on my walk home.

And now, time to finish up some last minute work! I’m also going to squeeze in the Summer Shape Up week 3 workout for a little lunch break pick me up. :)

I’m taking tomorrow off for the holiday, so I’ll see you guys back here on Monday for a kayaking 4th recap and weekend adventures. Have a wonderful holiday weekend, my friends!

What are you up to for the 4th?
