Hello my friends! I’ll be back shortly with a normal post, but first I wanted to share some details about a cool earth-friendly campaign that’s going on right now – and how you can get involved!
Odwalla is teaming up with The Nature Conservancy’s All Hands on Earth campaign to plant up to 100,000 trees throughout 2013 in cities and towns across the country. Cool, right? To get the trees growing, they’re asking us to create digital trees on their website.
The photo above is the tree that Matt and I planted while on our honeymoon in Costa Rica in December!
Given that today is May 1 and it’s a gorgeous, sunny spring day here in DC, it seemed the perfect time to share some love for mother nature. And as we all know from my “About Me” page, nothing makes me happier than being outside on a beautiful day! So, let’s all help promote clean water, healthy soil, and fresh air by showing nature some love through this campaign. Head on over to Odwalla’s website to create your own digital tree. After you create your tree and register it, a real tree will be planted in your name – and you’ll have the chance to win a $10,000 gift card and years supply of Odwalla goodness, too.
Here’s my digital tree creation! Being a Registered Dietitian, I of course decorated my tree with fresh fruit. Plus the sun and a rainbow for good measure!
What’s your favorite way to enjoy mother nature? As you can probably already guess, mine is running, followed by hiking and biking. Now that the weather is getting so beautiful I can’t wait to dust off our bikes and take them out for a spin! It’s been WAY too long.
Between March 20, 2013 and May 31, 2013, Odwalla will contribute $1 for each tree you create to The Nature Conservancy for the planting of trees – no less than $75,000 and up to $100,000. The mission of The Nature Conservancy is to conserve the land and waters on which all life depends. More information about the Conservancy is available by mail at 4245 N. Fairfax Drive, Arlington, Virginia 22203, by phone at (800) 628-6860 or at www.nature.org.
