Morning!

So remember how I was saying yesterday how I was going to start mixing it up for breakfast? Yeah, well… that lasted one day.

This morning it was back to cereal and it was delicious. :) I had a mixture of plain Greek yogurt and cottage cheese, topped with cereal, granola, and some hemp seeds. Plus blueberries! Yum. Hit the spot.

BUT… I was miraculously in the mood for baking this morning! I didn’t have to meet my study group until 10 a.m. and I have plans to work out this evening (my usual favorite Wednesday night Franklin Street Yoga class), so I decided to spend the morning dirtying up the kitchen. In my PJ’s, obviously, since baking in PJ’s is the best.

I made Gluten Free & Vegan Granola Bars! They came out AWESOME… recipe will be shared tomorrow. Stay tuned. ;)

In other news… you know when you reach that point where something big is looming and you’ve gotten mostly prepared for it but then just kind of lapse into a period of time where you start avoiding it/pretending it doesn’t exist for as long as possible? That’s kind of where I am right now with comprehensive exams (they are on Friday). I’ve done a good amount of studying with my classmates over the past few weeks, and I’m sure Thursday will be panicked last minute cramming, but instead of studying yesterday, I spent the night watching Vampire Diaries (obsessed!) and playing with my Droid RAZR. Obviously.

The latest cool thing I’ve discovered on the RAZR is the ability to do Smart Actions. You can set the phone to do things automatically for you – e.g. set your ringer to vibrate, down-regulate processes to save battery life, etc. Pretty cool, huh?

So far I’ve activated two smart actions – battery extender and nighttime battery saver. You can set certain triggers (or use their default triggers) for when to activate the action. For example, my battery extender action kicks in when my display is off (e.g. the screen is black), my device is not charging, and the device is not moving. This will automatically turn off my GPS and background sync, saving the battery. Awesome! The nighttime battery saver is basically the same, except it kicks in when it’s nighttime. :)

There are all sorts of other cool automatic smart actions you can set up, too, like a nighttime charging reminder, a sleep action that will automatically mute your ringer at night (but not your alarm!), a meeting action that also mutes your ringer if your calendar indicates you are in a meeting, etc. Very cool!

There’s even a “home” action setting that, when GPS indicates you are at your home, will automatically set the phone to your special “home” settings – e.g. 100% ringer volume, or whatever you want. Technology blows my mind. :)

Anyway! Alas, the fun is over… time to really get back to studying. I’m meeting my classmates for a few hours to go through some more material; today’s study topic is public health. Here we go!

Happy Wednesday, friends!
